Alpe d’Huez Ski Trip

On Saturday 3rd February, 44 students and staff travelled from Newcastle airport to Grenoble, France to start this year’s ski trip. After a short 1 hour 45 minute transfer from the airport to Alpe d’Huez the students settled in to the hotel and their rooms and had skis and ski boots fitted ready for skiing the next day.

The students were up nice and early the following day and started their first lesson at 9.00am Sunday morning. The conditions were good with bright sunshine and clear skies. The only issue was it was a little too warm and everyone was well wrapped up for winter!

Over the coming days all of the students made good progress on the slopes progressing quickly on to some of the green and blue runs. All students showed fantastic attitudes during the week to continue to make progress right up until the last day. While in the resort they also participated in a number of aprèsssadors ski activities including a high indoor ropes course, luge and a joint disco with Sedgefield School.

The students behaviour was excellent throughout the week and they were great ambassadors for the school and their families and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their commitment to the ski trip this year. Also, a big thank to all the staff who were on the trip as they played a massive part in making it such a successful and enjoyable trip for the students. Well done everyone. Thanks Mr Simpson
